Wi-Fi has to be where the crowd is. Not where the wall is.
Comms, Dante control, show tablets, ticketing, streaming — all of it wants an access point up in the air, out in the room, above head height. Ubiquiti built the mount for a building: ceiling tile, wall plate, drop bracket. You're in the room for fourteen hours and nobody is drilling anything.
So it gets zip-tied to a truss leg, gaffed to a pipe, or left on top of a road case where every body between it and the crowd is a 5 GHz attenuator.
apClip screws it onto a mic stand.
Standard 5/8"-27 — the same thread as everything else you own. Set the height you want. Boom it where you want. Move it in five seconds when the room changes, because the room always changes. At the end of the night it strikes with the stands instead of with a knife and a roll of gaff.
You already own forty mic stands. This turns them into AP stands.
Printed in-house in ASA — the same material as the rest of the line, because a $400 access point ten feet in the air is not the place to find out a bracket went soft under a moving light.
▸ Quick Facts
| What it is | A mic stand mount for Ubiquiti access points. Puts the AP up in the air and out in the room, on hardware every crew already owns. |
| Who it's for | AV, IT and network techs deploying temporary Wi-Fi at events — corporate meetings, theatrical, arena and festival. Comms, Dante / AES67 control, show tablets, ticketing and streaming uplinks. |
| Fits |
|
| Mounting | Any standard mic stand on a 5/8"-27 thread — straight stands, booms, clamps and desk bases. A boom gets the AP out over the room instead of straight up. |
| Material | ASA — UV- and heat-stable. Printed in-house in the USA. |
| Available as | Single. Access point not included. |
▸ Common Questions
| Will apClip fit my access point? | Tell us what you're deploying. Send a photo of your access point's mounting plate before you order and we'll confirm the fit. If it's a housing we haven't cut a clip for yet, we'll make it — that's how most of the range got here. |
| What kind of stand does it mount on? | Any standard mic stand with a 5/8"-27 thread — straight stands, booms, clamps and desk bases all work. A boom lets you get the access point out over the room instead of straight up. |
| Why mount an access point on a mic stand at all? | Because coverage follows the crowd and permanent mounts don't. A stand puts the AP above head height where bodies aren't absorbing 5 GHz, lets you reposition it in seconds when the room changes, and strikes with the rest of the kit at load-out instead of with a knife and a roll of gaff. |
| What is apClip made of? | ASA — UV- and heat-stable, printed in-house in the USA. The same material as the rest of the StageStrike line. |
| Is the access point included? | No. apClip is the mount only. |
